Les Chiens de fusil

  • / 2009-2011

11 photographs / 41 drawings and collages

With Les Chiens de fusil, Léa Habourdin establishes, through photographs and documents, an analogy between the forces that underlie human relationships and those that are at work in the animal kingdom.
Inspired by ethology, the artist fragments the bodies to keep only the gestures and attitudes. Moving in the social space, they seek each other, brush against each other, grab each other, strip or hide. By focusing on touch, materials, skins…
It is through these visual resonances, these games of repetition, on what is hidden, on what is shown, that metaphors appear and meaning is drawn. Before our eyes, the birth of a work unfolds that questions what has become of our relationship to a wild world.
